I yield the floor to God

12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.  (Hebrews 4)

The context of this much Beloved and often used Scripture is quite eye-opening.  Here are the verses that comes before it.  So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. 10 For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His. 11 Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience.  Who of us does not want more Rest in our Lives.  There is a Rest for the People of God through obedience to His call, a Sweet Sabbath Rest for all who will yield to His Will.

I truly stand corrected!  I was wrong, I couldn’t see clearly.  I was blind to the truth of how beautiful the Body of Christ can be,  How powerful the Love of Christ can be.   I have seen my fair share of ugliness in Church meetings, and it has made me cringe at the thought of being a part of the Body ever again.  But what I witnessed at a meeting in my Church last night was a Beautiful thing.  How can you be blessed at a Business Meeting in a Church?  I don’t know, I never have been before, but I was last Night.  God was there, Jesus was Present, The Holy Spirit led us in the way we should go.  It was so powerful to watch this unfold, The Body, actually functioning.  Were there still some wounded people there?  Of course, but I believe the Spirit led us to try to address and heal those wounds.  Was there misunderstanding?  Absolutely, but the Spirit gave the right Words, fitly spoken, like Apples of Gold in Settings of Silver.  It was a joy, to behold the Spirit leading us, correcting us, guiding our ways, our words, our decisions.  Now we’ve got to bring it home, into our own homes, our own prayer closets, our own hearts.  We each need to get alone with God and let the Word of God do its perfect work of correcting and guiding us individually.

I stand corrected about a great many things.  I came away from the meeting with a conviction in my own heart, of how I need to change.  I don’t know how God is going to enable our family to make those changes, but God does not call us, without providing the Way.  I will be doing some serious soul searching and number crunching, to figure out where and how to do as He has made clear to me that I should do.  I will be alone with Him, in my Room, listening, praying, seeking to obey what He has made plain.  The Word of God has spoken, and I must yield.  I yield the Floor to God.  In meetings we are asked to “yield the floor” when another individual wants to speak.  Well, God asked us to “Yield the Floor” to Him last Night.  And I believe Great things await those who will yield the floor to God in their own private times alone with Him.  I can hardly wait to see what He does in and through us, as we yield.

DSCF4142 A New Day is Dawning, Let us Rise Up to embrace His call, to yield to His voice, to enter that Sabbath Rest of Obedience!  Amen
