Pushing through the Debris

I was taking a walk in the woods at one of my favorite parks.  My son and dog were with me, on this wonderful Spring Morning.  We always carry our camera to snap pics.  This particular morning, I was looking down at the path a lot because of the rocks and such protruding out, keeping an eye on my footing, so as not to twist my ankle.  I began to notice tiny, little pink, white and purple flowers, just peeking out of the leaves covering the forest floor.  These Beauties had to work awfully hard to push through the debris.  The layer was pretty thick.  No one rakes, mows, or blows leaves in the forest, they just settle on top of one another, layer after layer.

This reminded me of how our lives can have debris-fields.  Places where things just went horribly wrong, and here we are lying dormant at the bottom of all those layers, all that debris piled on top of us.  It can seem incredibly daunting, to reach through these layers and see the sky again, feel the sun, drink the Morning dew.  But we are never alone in our walks through this world, not if we have asked Jesus, the Son of God, to walk alongside us.  God loves us each too much, to leave us alone there under all the fall-out of our lives.  Bad choices, bad company, bad days, etc.

Our Victory in Christ

28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good

1)  to those who love God,

 2)  to those who are called according to His purpose.

29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.

Truly, Christ has given us the victory, the strength and the courage to work our way upwards, and out of our own, very personal, Debris-fields.  God does cause all things to work together for good, but notice that I numbered the two things we must understand to really take this promise to heart and embrace it.

First, We must believe that God loves us, truly loves us

Second, We must believe that we are truly called according to God’s purpose

Our Precious Creator has reached down to us continually, In His Love.  Jesus is the Personification of the Love of God, and He desires to guide us, and give us the strength to push through our debris, our past, our present, whatever is holding us back.  Jesus Can walk us through it all, to Victory, if we yield our brokenness to Him and Believe His Promises.  Trust in Him, Dear Ones, and He will bring you through.  He will never fail you.
