His truth will make you free

Someone once said to me, “Carole, just because you think it, doesn’t mean it’s true!”  Now, perhaps to some of you, that is not news. But for me, at that time in my journey, it was the beginning of a revelation that would change my life in positive ways, from that time forth. God soon afterwards led me to the Scripture in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5:

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.
And so, my long journey out of speculations, assumptions, and imaginations of the heart, began. I started by asking God to slow my thoughts down a bit, so I actually could capture them and become aware of them.  He did.  I asked Him to teach me how to take them captive and submit them to Jesus, He has and still is doing this.  I asked Him to show me how to use the weapons He has given me, to battle my wrong thoughts.  His has, and is still doing this as well.

Our Primary weapon is the Word of God.  Soak yourself in it, bathe in it.  Probe its depths through looking up the rich and powerful original Greek and Hebrew languages. So many tools are at our disposal nowadays.  You have Blue Letter Bible and Bible Gateway, plus many more, right on the Internet.

It is such a joy to go deeper with God and watch Him change you from the inside out.  I can honestly say, “Wow! I am not who I used to be.”  Praise God for the Holy Spirit, who leads us into all truth, and brings to mind the Word of God just when we need it most (John 14:26).  And Praise God for His Son, Jesus Christ, who offered to die for us, even before the Creation of the World, yes, before He even created us (Ephesians 1:4). Listen to what God says in Psalm 18:

For You light my lamp; The Lord my God illumines my darkness. 30 As for God, His way is blameless; The word of the Lord is tried; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him. 31 For who is God, but the Lord? (Vs 28, 30-31)

Our God desires to illumine any dark thoughts we have, and deliver us from them. He desires to lead us into the light of His truth.  I have found this journey to be one of great joy, that leads to incredible freedom. God’s Word is definitely a sure foundation, I have found this to be absolutely true. Jesus says to us:

31 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” (John 8:31-32 NASB)

We all want to walk in freedom, and only Christ can truly make us free. Sit with Him long and deep in His Word often in your life.  You will find Him to be so faithful and He will refresh you continuously.  He will set you free from thoughts that are not true, and show you what is. O the joy of belonging to someone who will never give up on us.  Praise be to our God.

  1. I PRAISE GOD EVERY DAY FOR HIS FAITHFULNESS AND FOR NEVER GIVING UP ON US. HE DOES HAVE PLANS FOR GOOD FOR EACH OF US AND NOT FOR EVIL. PRAISE THE LORD
