The Lord will accomplish what concerns me; Your faithfulness, Lord, is everlasting; Do not abandon the works of Your hands. (Psalm 138:8 NASB)
We all have stories of how God shows up in a situation when we are crying out to Him. He is good and faithful in all He does. Sometimes we cry out presently and here He comes. Other times it takes years, decades even. Either way, He is faithful.
I am going to be sharing stories I have heard of how God has inserted Himself situations. He promises in Scripture
1 You have searched me, Lord,
and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue
you, Lord, know it completely.
5 You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me. (Psalm 139: 1-5 NIV).
We can trust Him, but trust is learned, and trust is earned. So, God is always looking for ways to stretch our faith until we begin to see that He has already gone before us and made a way. We just haven’t seen it yet! All names are changed in the stories so as not to have people exposed, but the stories are completely real.
Story 1, God’s arm is not so short
Mar was dying of breast cancer and this battle was not her first round either. As her friend, Dee, was leaving one evening after work; God spoke clearly to Dee and asked her to take care of her friend. Dee was a believer in Jesus, Mar was not at that time, as far as we know. Yet Dee’s Business, Christian owned and operated, felt led to support Mar with a generous stipend so she could stay in her home instead of going to a hospital, or facility. God blessed that decision and Mar lived over six months longer than expected. God softened Mar’s heart and in time she passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved her. Everyone grieved this loss at Dee’s company.
Not long after, there was a knock upon Dee’s door; when she answered it, there stood a young man in front of her whom she had never seen before. He extended his hand and in it there was an envelope containing a letter written by Mar before she died. This Young man’s name was Jack, and he was Mar’s son. He didn’t like Christians much, but watching these people help care for his mom over the last six months of her life, he was stunned.
The letter contained thanks and words that have led everyone all to believe that they would be seeing Mar in heaven. Jack cried in Dee’s arms, having now lost both his mom and dad within a year.
God truly goes before us and makes a way where there seems to be no way. For years before, Dee’s best friend, Clarice, began praying for her daughter to come back to Jesus, but to no avail. Lots of amazing conversation, but her daughter thought everything was coincidence until they discovered that Jack was her daughter’s longtime friend, and Dee had been best friends with Clarice for 40 years. The Christian owned company was used by God to reach at least three people, Mar, Jack and Clarice’s daughter, just by Dee being obedient to the prompting of the Holy Spirit of God. Seeds planted and another sister in Heaven for us. Go God!!!
