Wondering, but never lost

By: Carole L. Haines

And He will be the stability of your times,
A wealth of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge;
The fear of the Lord is his treasure. (
Isaiah 33:6)

Have you ever been through a season where so much change occurred it left you reeling and breathless? A season where it felt like a tornado went right through the middle of your life and uprooted things you felt were foundational? A season where much good came in and what you thought was good was swept away? That’s been the last 6 months for me. God is so faithful amid all the different times of our lives, but during times of great change and upheaval, we really feel that need for His stability. When our world is rocking back and forth as if an earthquake is occurring beneath our feet, God is that lifeline we reach for, that column from Heaven to Earth that we grab hold of to keep ourselves from falling. These times leave us wondering, but never lost. I am so grateful for His steadfast love. faithfulness and mercy.

And He will be the stability of your times,
A wealth of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge;
The fear of the Lord is his treasure. (
Isaiah 33:6)

The word “stability,” means: “steadiness, firmness, trust, and faithfulness. I have a new job that I love. I am a bus attendant for special needs children. I have the best driver, she is amazing. But as we are going through neighborhoods and over speed bumps, around corners and up and down hills, I find that I need to reach out to take hold of a seat near me to steady myself. God is that seat, that stability for us to grab hold of to keep ourselves from toppling over. I am so grateful as I am coming through this season to the other side. But when it all began to happen months ago, I just grabbed onto God tighter than ever. He truly is our firmness, our trust, our steadiness. Perhaps you are going through a difficult time right now. Reach out to Jesus, may you, dear friend, find Jesus to be the stability you need amid the hard times of your life. These times may leave you wondering, but with Jesus, you are never lost.

Thank you, Jesus, for being the stability or our times, a wealth of salvation and knowledge. Thank you, Jesus, for bringing me through this and for your blessings amid this season of upheaval. I am so amazed and grateful to you for all these changes. You are truly our stability. Amen
