Father God,
Thank You for who You are. What we could not do, because we are weak at the very core, you did by sending Your own Son in the form of our weakness, human flesh. And He walked among us, healed us, taught us, and than laid down his life for us on the Cross. He walked a road we could never have walked,
Yes, we all come to Him in the Garden of Gethsemane, where we all have to learn to die to ourselves, our selfish demands of others, our pride and arrogance. We all come to Him in that Garden and learn how to struggle by watching Him sweat great drops of blood for the stress of the moment. We come to Him in that Garden and listen to His surrender, we listen to how He cries out to You for deliverance, and yet accepts that Your will is best.
Forgive us, Jesus, for sometimes we join the disciples who fell asleep. We can’t keep our eyes open and pray with You one hour.
Forgive us Jesus, for sometimes we become frightened of being ridiculed for our faith and we run away and leave You all alone
Forgive us, Jesus, for in our own subtle way, or perhaps more blatantly, we deny that we know You. Perhaps we don’t speak up when we should, or speak out harshly when we shouldn’t.
Holy spirit, cleanse us from all that keeps us from a closer walk with You. Yes, meet with us in That Garden of Gethsemane and teach us to die, so we can truly live. We will never walk the road walked by Our Precious Savior, Jesus. That road that lead to torture, brutality, unbelievable suffering and finally death. We only look on in horror and what we have caused, at what we made so necessary for You to accomplish, dying in our place, for our sins, never Your own, for You have none, Jesus.
I love You, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Teach me to love You more and more and more
THESE WORDS TOUCH DOWN DEEP IN MY SOUL. HE WAS IN THE GARDEN AND ON THE CROSS BECAUSE OF ME!!!! HE HAS PAID THE PRICE – IT IS FINISHED!!!! NOW WE ARE TO BE HIS HANDS, AND FEET HERE ON EARTH. AND YES WE ARE TO SEE OTHERS AS HE SEES THEM. BLESSINGS, LOVE, MOM
