Becoming like…

² Why should the nations say,
“Where, now, is their God?”
³ But our God is in the heavens;
He does whatever He pleases.
⁴ Their idols are silver and gold,
The work of man’s hands.
⁵ They have mouths, but they cannot speak;
They have eyes, but they cannot see;
⁶ They have ears, but they cannot hear;
They have noses, but they cannot smell;
^7 [b]They have hands, but they cannot feel;
^[c]They have feet, but they cannot walk;
They cannot make a sound with their throat.
⁸ Those who make them ^[d]will become like them,
Everyone who trusts in them.

Psalm 115: 2-8

Verse 8 of the above psalm is extremely sobering

“Those who make them will become like them, all those who put their trust in them.”

¹² Who can discern his errors? Acquit me of hidden faults.
¹³ Also keep back Your servant from presumptuous sins;
Let them not rule over me;
Then I will be ^[e]blameless,
And I shall be acquitted of great transgression.
¹⁴ Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. (Psalm 19:12-14)

O, Father in Heaven,

teach us to serve only You, to trust only You.

teach us to be careful not to build idols in our lives

impotent things in which we must not trust.

Lord anywhere, anyone, anythings that we have exalted above You,

Please show us, so we can come to You and give these things over into your hands

We do not want to become impotent like the foolish things in this world.

Make us like You, Father God, make us like You

Thank you that You love us endlessly and will bring to mind all that

we have in our hearts that need to be brought under your rule and reign.

I love you Father God, Lord Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit.

thank You for loving me so completely that You want to save me from all that is not of You
