Island of refuge

Island of refuge

Eph 3:9-11

“…To bring to light the mystery Which for ages has been hidden

In God, who created all things; Now the manifold Wisdom of God

Is made known through the church To the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places

This was all in accordance with THE ETERNAL PURPOSE which God Himself

Carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

In the midst of all the seeming chaos, in the face of all the grief and tragedy which we ourselves invited into the world thru our Self-Will; in the midst of all of it, there is an island of refuge. That island is the Purpose of God, carried out by Jesus Christ himself.

Paul continues, “For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives it’s name…”

Paul bowed the knee to God’s purpose. He saw the vision God had for the world and he bowed his knees to the Father, do I? Have I? Have I ever really seen The purpose of God before. This day with more than intellectual eyes. Paul bowed his knees to pray for others when He finally got it! “(I pray) that God would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be:

  1. strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man
  2. so that Christ may rule in your hearts through faith
  3. so that you being rooted and grounded in love
  4. may be able to comprehend with all the saints
  5. what is the breadth, length, height, and depth
  6. and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge
  7. that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God

NOW TO HIM WHO IS ABLE TO DO FAR MORE ABUNDANTLY BEYOND ALL THAT WE ASK OR THINK, ACCORDING TO THE POWER THAT WORKS WITHIN US, TO HIM BE THE GLORY

  1. IN THE CHURCH
  2. AND IN CHRIST JESUS

TO ALL GENERATIONS FOREVER AND EVER. (Jude 24-25)

No matter what is going on in the world, the Kingdom of God is already established through Jesus Christ, so we need not fear.  God is always sitting on His throne, not standing up in alarm.  So we, too, can sit in peace and trust in our precious Lord and Savior.

ANOTHER WONDERFUL PRAYER FOR EACH OF US TO PRAY – FOR OURSELVES AND FOR OTHERS. STILL – THERE IS THE PERFECT PRAYER. “THY WILL BE DONE”
