“…Because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.”
Luke 19:34b
I think that the fact that God’s people didn’t recognize Him when He came to them in human flesh, is one of the saddest realities in the Bible. We are told in the Gospel of John, chapter 1:
9 There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
The whole world was made through Jesus Christ. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God. Jesus was that word, through which all the world was created, and yet, his creation did not recognize Him when He came to them. Simply tragic, right? But Oh the mercy of God. He didn’t just cast us away, absolutely not. He gave the right to become children of God to every one who did recognize Him, who did receive Him and believe in His Name. Oh, how I treasure the heart of God. God is truly for me, for you, for us. Who could possibly be against us. I never want to take for granted, this Awe-inspiring good news, the Gospel. “For God so loved the World, that He gave the world His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him might have everlasting life.” (JN 3:16) It doesn’t say that God felt some sort of obligation to us, that somehow it was His duty to rescue us. No, it says, God So Loved Us.
Let us not be of those who do not recognize the Day of their Visitation. God is speaking to our spirits all the time. He speaks to us through His Word. O, open your hearts and listen. Open His Word and listen. Do not miss His Precious visits. When is the Day of Salvation? It is Today, it is always Today, Now, This moment. God is not slow in keeping His promise to return, but He is patient, not wanting anyone to perish, but for everyone to come to Christ. And God desires to visit those of us who have already trusted in Him. He desires to speak to us, to impart His precious Word, His Precious love, His overflowing Grace.
Do not miss all the precious Words He speaks to your heart. Do not be too busy to listen. He stands at the door of your heart and knocks. Open the door, invite Him into Your life, into your heart, and listen and He speaks. It will be the Day of Your greatest Joy, the Day of Your visitation, and your heart will overflow with peace, love and joy. Receive Christ into Your life today, as Savior and Kind Lord. I pray this for you all. In Jesus’ love I leave you.
AND I HAVE LEARNED THAT SOMETIMES HE USING WHAT WE WOULD THINK OF AS UNLIKELY PEOPLE,PLACES AND THINGS TO DRAW US TO HIM. bLESSINGS TO ALL, MOM
