Driftwood
by: Carole L. Haines
Carried along on currents not of her own choosing
she feels like she’s drowning,
but she’s really learning to float on the Ocean of God
Her dreams are lost and cast out to Sea,
but God has better dreams for her
She is carried through storms, until all hope seems lost,
this is how she learns that Jesus is hope itself
Now washed upon a beautiful beach,
in a place unknown, unfamiliar;
peace that passes understanding warms her heart
because through it all
She has learned to lean on Him
to trust Him
to rest in Him
With God there are no Oceans He has not created
there are no beaches that are lonely
For He is everywhere present with us, His Beloved
