One of the Greatest fears of mankind is being forgotten, being alone. That’s why so many people pursue fame, they are so afraid they will not be remembered. They are afraid that their lives will have been for nothing, that they will leave no mark on the world. People who cannot attain this fame by artistic means, will often seek it through deviant means. They don’t care if they are remembered for evil, as long as they are not forgotten.
But God has shone me in His Word this morning how we can be truly free from this fear. We can be secure in exactly who we are because of who He is. Knowledge is power, so they say, and God’s Word tells us that we have everything we need to live a Beautiful, meaningful, significant Life through our true Knowledge of Him (2 Peter 1).
13 Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the Lord has compassion on those who [d]fear Him. 14 For He Himself knows [e]our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust.
15 As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
16 When the wind has passed over it, it is no more,And its place acknowledges it no longer.
17 But the lovingkindness of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who [f]fear Him, Psalm 103
We never wander alone in this world when we accept the Hand of God that is offered to every single person who has ever been born. God desires none to perish, but all to come to Him to come to eternal life.
We never sit alone, we never stand alone, we never fight. There is no wandering in God’s Kingdom, there is never a time we are walking alone, not from God’s perspective. We may feel alone, but He is with us because He promises He is. I may not sense His presence in the moment, but whenever I have looked back over anything I have been through, I see Him there; Ever present and always Faithful.
I need not fear insignificance, or not leaving my mark upon this world. He will leave His mark, His very own Unique Mark through His work in and through my life. I can’t help but leave God-prints for others to follow, because He is leading my Way. If I let Him lead, that is. I must stop trying to run my own show. He is My Director, My Producer; the Author and Finisher of my Faith. So I need never feel alone, I need never seek fame for myself. I am famous, in the Kingdom of God, just by being His. I am only significant as He intends me to be, and I am so at peace with that. My life will be far more fruitful and encouraging to the world I live in because God’s work in and through me, than anything I could ever do myself.
All to Jesus, I Surrender. All to Him I freely Give.
I will ever love and trust Him, in His presence, daily live.
