Romans 15
5 Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, 6 so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
7 Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God.
One of the greatest freedoms we experience as Americans is Freedom of __________. You fill in the blank. The freedoms we are granted here in this country are unprecedented. But there is a freedom that cannot be granted by anyone but God Himself. It is the Freedom of Unity. We are so into celebrating individuality here in America, we seem to have forgotten the Beauty of Unity. But Unity has been experienced in this Country in Times of War. Tom Brokaw called a generation, The Greatest, in his book. I believe he is right in so many ways. The Acts of sacrifice and community that were seen during this tragic, yet triumphant time of war were both Beautiful and Astounding.
Brothers and Sisters, we are in a time of Great trial, as Believers in Jesus Christ. But our struggle is not with other people.
Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
God has granted us the miraculous power to be of one mind, to be of one accord, to Glorify Him with one voice. Let us pull together, lay aside our petty differences, and fulfill the Call of Christ, to reach a world in need of His Saving Love and Grace. Let us only have, as important to us, that which is important to Christ, and Him alone. Nothing else really matters. None of our petty disagreements are ever going to matter in heaven, so let us lay them asid down here, and live for Christ alone. He is the Author and Perfecter of not only our Faith, but also of our Unity. Let us yield to His marvelous grace and live out the freedom of being of One mind, in one accord and glorifying God with One voice. O, then the world shall see Jesus. They shall see Jesus in us.
