8 “Behold, I go forward but He is not there, And backward, but I cannot perceive Him; 9 When He acts on the left, I cannot behold Him; He turns on the right, I cannot see Him. 10 “But He knows the way I take; When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold. 11 “My foot has held fast to His path; I have kept His way and not turned aside. 12 “I have not departed from the command of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food. 13 “But He is unique and who can turn Him? And what His soul desires, that He does. 14 “For He performs what is appointed for me, And many such decrees are with Him. (Job 23)
When he has tried, My beloved, he shall come forth as gold. Have you ever watched God’s refining process in the life of another person? I have had a front row seat to God’s transforming My Beloved in the last several years. People say that what a person suffers often equals the greatness of the task that God is calling them to. God gave me a verse for my husband very early in our marriage. It is a Scripture that I have prayed over him countless times.
Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before obscure men. (Proverbs 22:29)
My Beloved is strong, and growing stronger. I have witnessed weakness overcome, enemies conquered, depression shattered, joy discovered in the most obscure places. O Precious Husband, Bruce, I am so proud of you and all that God has done, is doing and will continue to do in and through You. May the world see more of Jesus through you, more kindness, more power, more forgiveness, more hope, more joy. I certainly have in our 31 years of marriage. I have told others, and now I tell the world that you are the most Christ-like person I have ever known. I count it all joy to be married to you, My Beloved.
