Driving along one day, my husband and I came upon a surprising scene. An entire field of sunflowers, their heads bowed. I had passed sunflower fields before, and witnessed their breathtaking beauty. Heads high, as if gazing at the Sun, soaking in its warmth. But now the blooming season had ended and it was time to drop their seeds for the next generation to come up behind them. This field of bowing sunflowers was almost a holy scene, as if they were worshipping their Creator, yielded to His will and way. I will treasure this precious image in my heart, as I feel that God has brought me beyond the blooming season for certain things in my life. and I yield bowed, waiting to drop the seeds for the next generation of Believers coming up behind me.
A part of those sunflowers will be in those new seeds, even as a part of me will be in the seeds God drops from my life. As we wait upon the Lord to gently harvest the seeds He has grown in us, we bow in reverence at His mercy and kindness, to use us at all. It is a precious and beautiful thing, a holy thing, to be used by God. Our hearts yielded, heads bowed, waiting upon His perfect timing to bring things to fruition in our lives.
And so we yield to You, O precious God, heads bowed, hearts yielded, waiting upon you in Worship.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (1 Peter 1:3-5 NASB)
IN HIS TIME. ALWAYS PERFECT. love, Mom
