Woke up this morning in a panic, all my plans fell through for the day, I was going to be all alone with nothing to do. I started trying to think of who I could call to do something with. I began to feel afraid and lonely. But then I sensed it, that still, small, beautiful voice I always long to hear…God! I sensed Him saying to me,
“Let’s go on a date today, Carole, just you and Me. We can sit and talk through My Word, then we can drive to anywhere we want. Perhaps we’ll drive all the way to the Ocean, or maybe go and see the snow about an hour north of you. Let’s just go and see where we end up. I have wonderful things to show you!”
My fear melted, the panic disappeared in a moment! A date with God, that’s awesome. My mouth eased into a playful grin. My heart began to race with excitement. I kid you not, I feel giddy and joyful inside. Isn’t it amazing how an invitation to go somewhere, do something, be with someone, can bring such joy and excitement.
Well God asked me out on a Date today, and I’m going. He’s going to surprise me, I can tell. He knows how much I love the sparkle of sun on the water, the fresh smell of the air, and the Beauty I daily behold in His Word. He will, and always does, accompany me. I am never, ever alone, what a joyful reality I have in Him.
God invites you on a date too, every day of your life. Come and join Him today, see Him in the little things. If you are all alone today, ask God to make Himself so real to You. He will. Enjoy Him.
