I woke up this morning with the familiar words of a song filling my head.
You are the Only King Forever, Almighty God we lift you Higher
You are the Only King Forever, Forevermore You are Victorious.
(Elevation Worship)
Now many of you may wake up with a Song of Praise in your head every day. I wish I had your blessing. I struggle with anxiety and depression, so my morning thoughts tend toward the gloom or fear kind of awakenings. What a blessing to wake up with a song of worship in my heart. I usually get up early, get out of bed quickly, so I can replace the gloomy thoughts with God’s truth. For those are what I can really rely on. The Word of God can be relied upon unequivocally.
Some of my favorite truths about God’s Word are:
God’s Word is Powerful:
So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth;
It will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire,
And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it. (Isaiah 55:11)
God’s Word is Searching:
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. (Hebrews 4:12-13)
God’s Word fills us with hope and truth. When my young little heart was ravaged by anxiety and thoughts of fear and hopelessness, I yearned for something to ease the fears. Everything on the earth was constantly shifting and changing. I needed something that was steady, true, reliable, and faithful. God and His Word became my refuge, my safe haven, my constancy in an ever-changing, somewhat frightening world. I am so grateful for His faithfulness, truth and love.
Perhaps you need some stability in your life as well. I will close with this verse about His amazing Power.
“He stretches out the north over empty space and hangs the earth on nothing.
(Job 26:7)
Let us hang our hopes upon the one who hangs the earth upon nothing.
I did paint the pjcture. Thank you!

Replacing gloomy thoughts with God’s word. So important. Did you paint the picture? It’s beautiful.
