Reflections

Some of the devotions, poems and thoughts that I post are from my past.  I have been keeping a journal since I was a teen girl.  I have lived through many things and have always found God to be faithful to His promises.   You will find different levels of understanding sprinkled throughout each days devotion.  I believe we are to share our vulnerabilities and weaknesses for the sake of those who are coming up behind us.  We’ve all been wrong about many things.  I will not change the words  of my journal entries, unless I feel that, somehow, I have been untrue to the teachings of Scripture.  If there is one thing I have learned in my many years of following Christ, it’s that there is just as much old thinking to unlearn, as there is new thinking, based on His Word, to learn.  We are all on a faith journey; and humility, tenacity, and grace our some of our greatest allies.  There is nothing wrong with saying, “I don’t know, I’m not sure, or I was wrong.”  The only One who always gets it right is God, and if we have a difference of opinion with Him, well it is we who need to change our minds, not Him. God is ever gracious, His mercies are new every morning, and His faithfulness reaches to the skies.  FatherGod, teach us to be ever open to what You show us, ever humble to where we need change, ever hopeful that Your work will be finished in us, and ever grateful for Your unending Love.  Amen
