Honesty

“Being honest does not mean you have to be frank in your every comment, that hurts people. While honesty is a requirement for a successful relationship, telling someone everything that is wrong with them is not only ill-advised, it probably doesn’t reveal the complete truth. The total truth is from God’s perspective and He undoubtedly, doesn’t have the same problem with other peoples’s actions as you do. Our Goal must not be to get another person to do what we want, but rather to release that person to God, so He can get them to do what He wants.”
Stormie Omartian POWER OF A PRAYING WIFE

Wise words from one who helped turn my marriage around 15 years ago.  I was asked to do this study with a friend.  It changed my whole perspective on my precious husband.  I lost my own perspective, and found God’s.  God sees everything for what it really is and speaks the truth to us about ourselves and others.  When I pray, not just for my beloved husband, but for anyone.  god reveals to me how He sees that person, and the compassion of Christ slowly replaces my own.  I cannot recommend the prayers and scripture in this book enough,  i do not agree with everything Stormie says, but God has used her mightily to write Scriptural prayers that can be prayed over anyone.  The greastest thing I learned and still practice at this time, is that most things are “shut up and pray,” issues.  god works through prayer.  I don’t know how, or why; I just know He does, because prayer, above all else, changes me.  And boy do I need it.

  2. PRAISE THE LORD THAT YOU HAVE LEARNED THIS MOST IMPORTANT LIFE LESSION EARLIER IN YOUR LIFE THAN I DID. GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME. BLESSINGS, MOM

  3. Thanks Carole for your thoughts on that and I know I certainly need that advice to love better. Without seeking God’s perspective, much of the time, I have not loved, but frustrated.
