Fully known, fully cared for

I came across such a wonderful glimpse into just how intricately our Lord knows and cares for us.  I subscribe to a site entitled wisegeek.   I am sent a tidbit of random knowledge everyday, most of it great stuff, some I just delete.  But the one I found yesterday stirred my heart with the assurance we all need about our faithful and endlessly loving God.  Here it is:

The human heart is a muscle about the size of a fist, and it beats more
than 3 billion times during the average person’s lifetime. It pumps the
equivalent of more than 1 million barrels of blood through the body during
an average lifetime, supplying the body’s internal systems with oxygen
and other nutrients required for them to function. In one minute, a healthy
heart beats about 80 times, which adds up to 115,200 beats per day and more
than 42 million beats per year. It circulates about 6 quarts (5.6 liters)

Now I could not help but be reminded of on of my favorite passages of Scripture after reading these words.  It is found in Psalm 139

¹³ For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb.
¹⁴ I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works,
And my soul knows it very well.
¹⁵ My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth;
¹⁶ Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;
And in Your book were all written
The days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them.

I am fully known, I am fully cared for.  When the gales of life’s uncertainties sweep in and threaten to destroy me, I remember these verses.  Surely a God who made the heart so intricately, strong enough to beat more than 3 billion times throughout my lifetime; surely this same God can care for me in my everyday and in  the storms of life.  I am in a storm of sorts right now, are you?  Read the Scripture above again and again, today.  Your God made you, Your God calls you to Himself, Your God loves you.  He strengthened your heart inside your body and He will strengthen your soul, your mind and your spirit, as you turn to Him this day.
