The Earth is satisfied with His works, why aren’t we?

 Psalm 104:19-23
19 He made the moon for the seasons;
The sun knows the place of its setting.
20 You appoint darkness and it becomes night,
In which all the beasts of the forest prowl about.
21 The young lions roar after their prey
And seek their food from God.
22 When the sun rises they withdraw
And lie down in their dens.
23 Man goes forth to his work
And to his labor until evening.

Psalm 104:10-13

10 He sends forth springs in the valleys;
They flow between the mountains;
11 They give drink to every beast of the field;
The wild donkeys quench their thirst.
12 Beside them the birds of the heavens dwell;
They lift up their voices among the branches.
13 He waters the mountains from His upper chambers;
The earth is satisfied with the fruit of His works.

I was so struck by this phrase, “The earth is satisfied with His works.”   It made me wonder why I ever question God.  I have struggled with the desire to control life, and have never been able to figure out how.  Maybe some of you have, but I have not found the secret of controlling things.  So I have made my peace with learning to be content is whatever circumstances I am in.  Paul spoke these words in one of his letters. 11 Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. 12 I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. 13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. ( Philippians 4:11-13)

And so I have learned the secret of life is not in my being able to control things, people or circumstances, but instead, to know the One who is in control.  This Precious and Wonderful God who satisfies the whole earth.  Knowing Him is the key to letting go my desire for control and surrendering to the One who knows best.  Truly, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, when I have learned to relinquish my own desire for control.  Thank You Lord God for who You are, just for who You are.  We love you
