They who had no news of Him shall see

17 Therefore in Christ Jesus I have found reason for boasting in things pertaining to God. 18 For I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me, resulting in the obedience of the Gentiles by word and deed, 19 in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit; so that from Jerusalem and round about as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. 20 And thus I aspired to preach the gospel, not where Christ was already named, so that I would not build on another man’s foundation; 21 but as it is written,

They who had no news of Him shall see,
And they who have not heard shall understand.” (Romans 15)

Some of us just lived out this Scripture on our trip to India.  We saw Jesus’ love  powerfully displayed in signs and wonders.  People were saved, baptized, delivered from demons, healed, etc.  I have never experienced such a Blessed Joy in Christ in all my life, except in my times alone with Him.  But why did I have to leave America in order to see these things?  I think Jesus sums it up best in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 13

57 And they took offense at Him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own household.” 58 And He did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief.”

America is kind of like that Hometown that has taken offense at Jesus, and they have, in many cases, ceased to believe in Him.  God’s Power is not from us, not meant for us, but can be experienced through us.  I think we too often try to wield power in Christ, instead of just yielding to His power working through us.  I prayed over so many people for healing, for blessing, for their lives.  I laid hands on children and prayed for their anointing in God, for their future ministries, reaching their own countrymen and women for Jesus.  Did I see anything happen?  Not sure, but God is sure.  Jesus is true and good and right and honorable.  He is the author and perfecter of our faith.  I am not called to success, or even to see the work of my hands completed.  I am called to obedience, to submission, to yielding and to trust.

Jesus, the Example

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. (Hebrews 12)

In Hebrews 11 we are told about the Great Men and Women of Faith from of old.

39 And all these, having gained approval through their faith, did not receive what was promised, 40 because God had provided something better for us, so that apart from us they would not be made perfect.

We are their Legacy, even as all the people we had the privilege to reach out to, and touch, and pray over, and sing to, and dance for; In India, are our Legacy.  O Precious Jesus, what a privilege, what an honor, what a joy to serve You in any country.  But in India, I truly saw many hungry for what only YOU, LORD JESUS, can give them.  I pray for revival here in America, for a capturing of the hearts of the Indian People to Your Precious Kingdom.  and I pray for America to wake up and realize what she has been given, and to turn back to the Creator and Savior of Their souls.
