Concerning the Word of life

 1 John 1

1 What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life— 2 and the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us— 3 what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. 4 These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete.

Our relationship with God through Jesus Christ, must be experienced through all the five senses.  It is not just an intellectual exercise through the Word of God.  It is something we carry with us each day into our jobs, out into the world, in our own homes.

What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life.

We share what God reveals to us in His Word.  We encourage others with what He shows us from His Word and how it impacts our everyday lives.  We tell of what He has shown us, even as the heavens declare the Glory of God.  All around us are His Wonders.  Within us we carry the miraculous…a Redeemed Life.   Saved from the downward spiral of the destructive nature of sin and failure, the repetitive cycle we were once doomed to live in.

2 and the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us—We share how the Word of life has changed everything for us, inside and out.  Manifested, lived out…right in front of all who care to take notice of the changes Jesus brings.  Jesus is our Manifesto, He is the Firstborn from among the dead.  We were all once dead in our trespasses and sins, but God has made us alive through Christ.  O shout HALLELUJAH!

3 what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.   A Walk with Jesus Christ is so eye-opening, so refreshing, so real and poignant, it practically demands to be shared.  We cannot help but tell others the difference He is making in our lives.  “I once was lost, but now I’m found,”   I used to not belong anywhere.  But Jesus is now my home, my hope, my all.

4 These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete.  Notice how it says here that we write these things so that our own joy is made complete.  I was feeling discouraged about this blog and wondering if I should continue writing these  devotionals.  I asked God to give me a sense, a sign of whether I should continue. I never know who reads them, or if they are reaching people.  But then God showed me that I write these things so that my own joy is made complete.  I must share What He has done for me and this is one of the ways He has shown me to do this.  May God bless all and any who read this today.  Share your own experiences with Jesus Christ.  I would love to hear how He is working in Your own life.
