God Is Light
5 This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. 1John 1)
There is an Urgent need to share Jesus with others. When we experience His love, His kindness, His Grace; we desperately want all the people we love to know Him, and experience those things too. I love how John, in verse 4 of 1 John says:
These things we write, so that OUR JOY may be made complete.
We simply are bursting at the seams to see other people freed, like we are. But it wasn’t always this way for me. I didn’t used to want to share Jesus very much because I hadn’t really experienced Him, even as a Christian. You can’t give what you don’t have. I was still so busy trying to do my own thing, be my own boss (and the boss of other people at times). I was manipulative, suspicious of others, fearful, greedy, etc. God loved me too much to leave me in that state. He broke me. He crushed in me the ability to manipulate anything. He threw up barriers and walls all around me, so that I had nowhere else to look, but up to Him. I felt entrapped, and I cried out to Him for help and deliverance. He put me in a place where I had no friends, no extended family around me. I was alone, and lonely.
Yet, it was the best thing that ever happened to me. It was in this place that I came to rely on Jesus as my constant companion, My dearest Friend, My Guide and Lord. I am so grateful to God for loving me too much to leave me as I was. I am free now, so free from so many sins and habits that used to encumber me. God is still working on me, in certain areas, Big time. But the Freedom and love I have found in Jesus Christ is so overwhelmingly Precious and True, I found I just had to share it with others. So, about two and a half years ago, I felt God leading me to start this Devotional Blog. It’s a place to share all the great things God is teaching me from His Word. If any of these have blessed you, it would be great to have a reply from you. I am just being obedient to what I feel He has asked me to do, and am just wondering if people are blessed.
Either way, I will continue to write and share these things because I believe that this is what God wants me to do. Like the Apostle John says:

If you find yourself in a place where you feel trapped, fenced in, with no place else to turn besides God. Look to Him and Him alone. Don’t try to find the way out yourself. Let God do that for you. He promises to do that in time:
No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. ( 1 Corinthians 10:13)
Perhaps there are things in your life that God wants to free you from, just like me. Perhaps there are habits, sins, or fears that hold you back from being fully His, fully free. Stay there, wait on God. Let Him provide the way of escape for you, in His time, in His way. Let Him have His grace and kindness perfected in You. Sit with Him often and long. He will set you free, as You wait upon the Lord. Amen and Amen. God bless you all
