“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3 If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And you know the way where I am going.” 5 Thomas *said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” 6 Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. (John 14)
Seeing this single phrase, all by itself, made me realize that it is my Spiritual- Responsibility to care for my emotions and not let them drag me all over the place. I often do, you know, let my emotions lead me by the nose, all over the place. But Jesus gives me a different path to trod instead, based on the above Scripture: BELIEVE IN GOD and BELIEVE ALSO IN JESUS. I cannot tell you how many times I have allowed myself to be stirred up by my own emotions, only to come back down and realize I have a choice as to whether my emotions will rule me, or I will rule my emotions. As a Believer in Jesus, as one of His Precious Children, I have been given the power to tread down my enemies. I have Spritual Response Ability. Sometimes, my emotions can seem like a fierce enemy, determined to drag me away, like the prey of some wild animal. Pray for me as I seek to follow God more in my emotional life. I believe He is calling for a breakthrough in this area for me. If any of you out there struggle with this too, I would love to pray for you. Visit my Website at http://www.carolelhaines.com
