On the Table with God

God has me in a time of self-examination.  I am in a place where, in my desire to go deeper, God has called me to let Him do some serious surgery on the most wounded places of my life.  Things can heal over on the surface, but there are often areas of hurt and infection that run deeper.  On the Battlefield of Life we incur many types of injures, some minor and some feel life threatening.  Emergency procedures are administered to get a soldier to stop bleeding, and when in the hospital, real attention can be given to the wounds.  Too often, we keep jumping off of God’s Operating Table and telling Him we’re fine and don’t need His Deeper Healing.  But God knows better, and so He keeps putting us back on the table in order to do His deeper work.  I am back on the table, because the things God is calling me to do require wholeness. I cannot lead people where I have never been.  None of us likes to look at these wounds, some are so deep and painful.  But here is what God has spoken to me about “staying on the table.”

Hebrews 4

12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Carole, let My Word penetrate deeply. Let is root out the thoughts and intentions of your heart.  You do not need to be afraid, for you see, I already know it all, and I already love you endlessly.

13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.

These things in your heart, Carole, are already exposed.  They are already open and laid bare before me. Others see them to, more than you think. Let me do My Work in these Broken Places.  Let me fully heal these wounds.

14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.

Carole, I am your great High Priest.  I understand all these wounds. I was tempted in all the ways that caused these wounds, but I did not sin.  Let me heal these places, these deep, deep hurts where you have sinned or others have sinned against you.  Let me lead you out of here, victorious and free.

16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Yes, Lord, I come.  I will choose to stay on Your Operating Table and receive Your Mercy and find Your grace to help me in this time of need.  I want all the freedom that Jesus already paid for.  Amen

So Beloved Believer, stay on the table when God is seeking to do His Healing work in your life.  He loves you too much to let you walk around wounded and bruised.  He bore those wounds in His own body on the Cross, in order to set you free from them.  Let God’s Healing have its perfect work in your life.  Just stay on the Table and let God finish what only He can do.
