So, Jesus! Remind me about yourself

I’ve come to a realization in my walk with Christ, that I have slipped away into more of an intellectual relationship, lately, with Him.  My passion has waned, and I miss Him a lot, a whole lot.  As I came to Him yesterday morning about this, a picture of me sitting on a couch with Him materialized in my mind. It was almost like an interview, asking,” So, Jesus, Remind me about yourself.”  I know that may sound flippant, but it’s not at all, in the heart of what I was getting at.
I sensed that just like when we sense a distance between our spouse, or one of our children, or even a good friend, we seek time alone to “catch up” with that person.  I miss my intimate relationship with God, with Jesus, so I am seeking to have Him renew my knowledge of who He is, and How I can get closer to Him.  As I asked Him, He opened up two Scriptures to me. They are as follows:
13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18 He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. 19 For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, 20 and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven. (Colossians 1 NASB)

God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they… (Hebrews 1 NASB)

He is my creator, my sustainer, my rescuer, He is God Himself, the exact, perfect image of who God is.  Do I want to know God, I must look to Jesus.  He holds all of creation together, He upholds all things by the word of His Power.  He is my purifier, my inheritance, My King, and My love.

Ask a question of God, and He will pour out the answer from His word.  That’s a good start, but I plan on expanding this list as He reminds me and reveals to me, more and more about Himself.  God is so good.  He didn’t rebuke me, He just gently re-introduced Himself, and reminded me of who He is.  No wonder I love Him so, His gentleness toward us in incomprehensible.  He truly is The Incomparable Christ.
