Let’s press on to Know the Lord

by: Carole L. Haines

So let’s learn, let’s press on to know the Lord.
Let us learn, let us “perceive, see, find out, discern, gain knowledge or,” The Lord.
Let us “become acquainted with and experience,” Him.

Let’s press on, “Follow after Him, Chase Him, be in pursuit of knowing Him.”
Let’s give attention to knowing the Lord.
*
His appearance is as sure as the dawn;
And He will come to us like the rain,
As the spring rain waters the earth.”
(Hosea 6:3 NASB)

Knowing God is the only source of true life.
Why? Because He can be trusted. He is never failing, ever faithful. He is not like a politician that makes a lot of promises they can never keep. They don’t have the power to keep promises. But God does.

His appearance is as sure as the dawn. Waking up in the dark, where you can’t see a thing, can be so disorienting. It is in these moments that I yearn for God the most, when darkness surrounds me. His appearance is as sure as the dawn. I can watch the dark skies and know God will appear, He will listen and the sky will begin to lighten. The sun will rise. He will come and save me.

Here is what Jesus says about this:
And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
(John 17:3)
Knowing God is not a part of eternal life, it is life. We’ve heard the phrase, “To know His is to love Him.” This statement is never more true than in the case of God. To know Him, to “be sure of Him, pursue Him, understand Him.”

Wait before Him. He will come like the rain, like the spring rain watering the earth. Like Water to our dry and thirsty soul. We do desperately need His living water.
Jesus promised us that if we believe in Him, out of our innermost being shall flow Rivers of Living Water. (JOHN 7:38) I am praying for revival in my Heart. I am praying for a fresh anointing from the Holy Spirit for Loving and knowing God. Please join me in this prayer for yourselves and for me. I so appreciate you all. Indeed, Let us press on to know The Lord.
