The Lord has established His throne in the heavens,

My friend has a wildflower field that went bloomin’ crazy this year. Being the generous person that she is, she decided to open it up and let people come pick them for a donation to the Farm. We got together Thursday Night and painted signs for the big bash. Saturday rolls around and after a few stopped, by the road gets closed for repairs, no one else could enjoy them. Isn’t life just like that?
But there was one Mom who stopped by with her three daughters, and they just loved the jars I had made and the field of flowers. They picked flowers together and filled their jars. Butterflies drifting above their heads. They were creating a spontaneous memory that these girls will never forget.
I believe God is creating memories with us all the time yet so often we miss them. I’m going to remember these girls and pray for God to make me more sensitive to the spontaneous joys He brings into my life. I call this Active Remembrance. I went to Yosemite with my husband and son. There was one hike I was just too tired to do, so as they hiked out to the waterfall, I gazed at the whole scene for over a half an hour. To this day I can call to mind the rushing water, the falls, the tranquility, the majestic rock walks towering over me. God created a memory in my heart I will never forget.
I am writing a Reflection Journal about this based on Psalm 103. I will let you all know when it is ready to be published. But go now and let God create some joyful memories with you that will stay with you forever.
