“He has made all things beautiful in His time”. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
With temperatures in the twenties
And many with no heat,
The hearts of our family were glowing
For on Christmas we did meet.
The faces of many we vow to love most
Were adorned with sweet, joyful grins.
We were blessed to feast together
With songs and of course with “Him”.
The poinsettia leaves waving in sunlight,
Greeting each fellow with cheer.
Familiar, loved pictures hung on the walls
Saying, “we’re so glad you’re here”.
Exchanging gifts with each other
Was telling of all that we knew
of one another’s’ likes and preferences
amongst our beloved crew.
But more precious than the delicacies;
And presents wrapped with great care
Were irreplaceable memories made,
Made because God led us there.
In prior years a pandemic’s hand
Had dealt a heavy blow
So special gatherings were put on hold
With no song or mistletoe.
But in addition to receiving the greatest gift of all
Of Jesus from our Sovereign Father,
We celebrated together this Christmas
This is now our “two years later”.
“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD”.
(Psalm 27:14)
