Woke up this morning thinking of a crossroads

out in the middle of nowhere

no trees, no grass

just two roads intersecting

and on the corner of this crossroads

stood a house all alone

it had stood alone for a very long time

worn with age and storms

the homes foundation and walls stood firm

Just some tender loving care

a coat of paint perhaps

maybe some new windows and a brand new door

Perhaps a garden, freshly planted with every color imaginable

and most important of all, a family inside

If you feel a bit like this old home

perhaps  lonely and worn-down

Let me pray for you, for me, for us

FatherGod, You make all things new

You bring the lonely into families

You wash away all our sins and regrets

This day, This new Year, renew us and make us whole

Let us know the power of Your great love and kindness

cleansing, restoring, keeping us clos

close to Your heart

give us new doors and windows this year

and perhaps a fresh coat of paint,

like a whitewash of Your grace

draw us ever closer to You

We may not know what his year holds

but we don’t need to when we rest in the arms of the One who hold this year
