Sliver of Glass
By: carole l.haines
As the mist settles like a Bridal Veil upon the Thirsty Land
And the morning light breaks across the sky, we meander hand in hand
Reminiscing of times we shared, the laughter, tears and pain
How we’ve lived the age-old tale of nothing ventured, nothing gained
We’re Seeing life through a sliver of glass
Where the light reflects and the rainbows dance
Where we gaze together thru Smokey glass
Sharing glimpses of the road ahead
And shadows of the life we’ve had
Fragile as a fresh spun web soaked in drops of morning dew
Clinging to the towering cliffs where harsh winds are howling through
Our lives are bridging chasms in Shadow lands of Misty Blue
Where hope surprises us with joyful sounds of laughter between us two
We’re Seeing life through a sliver of glass
Where the light reflects and the rainbows dance
Where we gaze together thru Smokey glass
Sharing glimpses of the road ahead
And shadows of the life we’ve had
As the dust settles from our lives
When what’s lost is found and tears are dried
Our dreams are often realized
less in the here and now
more in the by and by
That is lovely and evokes such a sense of peace. Great way to start my day! Thanks Carole.

Thanks Renee’. it gives me peace to realize that no matter how fragile my life may feel
I know God is holding my life and my beautiful Bruce’s life, and the lives of all our children
Have a great day.
