Be His Autumn Glory

I cannot help but be overwhelmed by the beauty all around us this Fall Season.  The leaves are just Spectacular this year.  When I was teaching my son a science course, we came across a wonderful truth about why Autumn leaves have the colors they do.  The chemicals that cause the brilliant colors are already present in the leaves. During the summer season, the leaves are green due to the life giving production of the chlorophyll in the leaves.  When the weather turns colder and the light diminishes, the production of this chemical slows and eventually stops.  This is when the true colors of the leaves bleed through.    So, it is in dying, that the most beautiful colors of the leaves are displayed in all their glory.

I believe that God has placed gifts in each one of us, just like the hidden colors of the leaves.  When we die to our own ambitions, our own wills, our ways of doing things; His true gifts and colors bleed through us and display the wonder of God to all the world.  In dying to ourselves, we become His autumn Glory, a display of His grace and kindness to the world around us.  Let us choose to be God’s Autumn glory every single day of our lives.
