As I was feeling stuck and trapped amidst all my packing up to move, God allowed me to find a book that has been a blessing to me again and again. It is called “A Long Obedience in the Same Direction,” by Eugene Peterson. Just the title fascinated me when I first came across it years ago. I t just says so much about the need for perseverance in an “instant” society. I have begun reading it again, for the 5th or 6th time in my life. I am not even to the first chapter, just in the introduction, and God has already blessed and encouraged y heart through this book once again. If you are feeling “stuck,” perhaps trapped in the circumstances of your life, this book is a great read. It takes you through a portion of the Psalms known as the “Song of Ascents.” I needed to be reminded that our walk with God is long and hard sometimes, but that He is always Good, always knows best and always in control. Truly, when I am weak then I am strong in Him. God bless your day.
